Interlock, decks & renovations in Elginburg

Elginburg is limestone farm country — dry-stone walls, century maples and long views at Kingston’s northwest corner. Stone work belongs here; it practically invented the neighbourhood.

Limestone farm country

Serving Elginburg

Where stone walls are the local history book

The farmers who cleared Elginburg stacked what they pulled from the fields into walls that still line Unity Road and Sydenham Road today. It’s a corner of Kingston where stone has always been the building material of record — which makes it a natural fit for what we do.

Twenty minutes from our base, Elginburg’s mix of farmsteads, estate lots and newer country builds gets our full range: interlock in patterns and palettes that sit well against old stone, decks and fences scaled to open land, and interior renovations for homes of every vintage.

Local knowledge

Shallow soil, honest foundations

Elginburg sits square on the limestone plain — soil can be thin, and bedrock shows up early in an excavation. That’s good news when you build for it: rock makes a stable sub-base if the granular layers above it are placed and compacted properly, and drainage is planned so water never sits between stone and stone.

Design-wise, we take our cues from the setting. Muted paver tones, traditional patterns and the charcoal soldier course echo the dry-stone walls without imitating them — new work that looks settled the day it’s finished.

Elginburg FAQ

Working with Gonzo in Elginburg

Is Elginburg inside your service area?
Yes — it’s about twenty minutes from our Kingston base via Sydenham Road, comfortably inside our everyday range. Request a quote and we’ll come walk the property.
What if excavation hits bedrock on my property?
Around Elginburg, it often does — and we plan for it. Rock changes the dig, not the quality: we adjust base build-up to the conditions, keep drainage moving, and price the site honestly after we’ve seen it rather than padding for surprises.
Can you design hardscaping to suit a heritage farm property?
That’s the brief we enjoy most. Paver colour and pattern get chosen to sit quietly beside old stone and brick, borders echo the farm-wall geometry, and layouts respect the existing trees and grades that give these properties their character.
