Interlock, decks & renovations in Gananoque

The Gateway to the Thousand Islands has been welcoming visitors since Joel Stone’s sawmill in 1789. For the homes that host all that river life, we build patios, decks and entrances worthy of the view.

Gateway to the Thousand Islands

Serving Gananoque

Built for river-town living

Gananoque lives on its waterfront — the Playhouse, the cruise docks, the cottages and homes strung along the St. Lawrence. Outdoor space isn’t a luxury here; it’s where the whole season happens. A patio, deck or fire-pit courtyard in Gan has to work as hard as the town does in July.

We’re thirty minutes up the Parkway from Kingston, and we bring the full trade package east: interlock driveways and patios, decks and fences, and interior renovations for the town’s older housing stock.

  • Interlock driveways, patios, walkways & steps
  • Decks & fences in pressure-treated wood, PVC & aluminum
  • Interior renovations — bathrooms, basements, tile & flooring

Local knowledge

Where granite meets the St. Lawrence

The Thousand Islands are the worn-down spine of the Canadian Shield, and around Gananoque that granite sits close to the surface. Shallow soil over rock changes how you build: base depths, drainage paths and step details all have to be planned around what the excavator actually finds. We’ve built on both the limestone plain and the Shield edge, and we quote with eyes open.

River properties also mean weather off the water — wind, spray and hard freeze. Composite-free PVC decking, aluminum rail systems and pavers rated for de-icing salt are the materials we reach for when a build faces the St. Lawrence.

Gananoque FAQ

Working with Gonzo in Gananoque

Do you work in Gananoque and along the Thousand Islands Parkway?
Yes. Gananoque is about 30 minutes from our Kingston base, and properties along the Parkway between the two are right on our route. Waterfront, in-town or rural — send the details and we’ll set up a visit.
Can you build on the rocky ground around Gananoque?
We plan for it. Where Shield granite runs shallow, we adjust excavation depths, use the rock as structure where it helps, and design drainage around it rather than pretending it isn’t there. The quote reflects real site conditions after we’ve walked the property.
What’s best for a deck exposed to river weather?
For St. Lawrence exposure we usually recommend PVC decking on pressure-treated framing with aluminum railing — low maintenance, colourfast, and it doesn’t mind spray or salt. We’ll show you the options and price both routes so you can decide.
