Interlock, decks & renovations in Seeley’s Bay

Serving Seeley’s Bay

Built for life at the water’s edge

The Rideau has been working water since 1832, and Seeley’s Bay grew up serving the boats that run it. Today the village is equal parts year-round homes and canal-side retreats, with Cranberry Lake’s docks and channels defining the pace of summer.

We make the run up Highway 15 from Kingston in about 35 minutes. Patios that host the dock crowd, steps that handle wet feet, fences that stand up to open weather, and interior work for cottages coming up to year-round standard — it’s all in scope.

Local knowledge

Canal-side ground rules

Waterfront in a UNESCO corridor comes with realities: seasonal water levels, shoreline setbacks, and ground that can be rock one metre and wetland the next. We walk every Seeley’s Bay site before quoting, design drainage that respects the shoreline, and flag any approvals early so the build never stalls mid-season.

Materials get chosen for the marine environment — PVC and pressure-treated decking, aluminum railings, pavers that handle ice and de-icer. The goal is a property that opens on the May long weekend without a maintenance list attached.

Seeley's Bay FAQ

Working with Gonzo in Seeley's Bay

Do you travel to Seeley’s Bay?
Yes — it’s about 35 minutes up Highway 15, inside our standard 45-minute service radius. Village homes, canal-side properties and the roads around Cranberry Lake are all fair game. Get in touch to set up a visit.
Can you work on canal-front or cottage properties?
Regularly. We schedule around your cottage season, plan deliveries for village and lake-road access, and design shoreline-adjacent work with the setbacks and drainage the Rideau corridor expects. You’ll know about any approvals before the quote is final.
What deck materials do you recommend near the water?
PVC decking over pressure-treated framing with aluminum railing is our usual canal-side spec — it shrugs off moisture, sun and ice without annual refinishing. We’ll price it alongside a traditional wood build so you can weigh the trade-offs.
